The Musicians’ Company annual Evensong Service commemorates St Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians (Feast Day 22nd November). Music is provided by the full choir, organ and a string orchestra and includes Elgar’s Elegy, composed for the Company in 1909 and played, in memory of those Liverymen who have died during the year, at every Company Evensong since 1914. The Master, Wardens, Court and Liverymen process together with Masters and Wardens of other Livery Companies. The service is followed by a reception in the Crypt for which there is a modest charge.
